Terms of use
Last updated on October 13, 2026
This is a translation. The Dutch version of this page is binding; if the two differ, the Dutch text prevails.
These terms apply to the use of LexAgent: the Workspace, the connection with your own AI assistant and this website. LexAgent is a product of SWIS B.V. in Leiden. By creating an account or connecting LexAgent, you agree to these terms.
What LexAgent is, and what it is not
- LexAgent helps you find and read the official legal sources, and lets a language model work with them. It is not legal advice and does not replace a lawyer or legal professional.
- A language model can make mistakes, even when it cites a source. Check every claim in the source itself before you rely on it.
- Consolidated texts are an aid without legal force. Only the publication in the official gazette is legally valid.
Your account
Provide accurate details when you create your account and keep your password secret. Your account is personal: do not share it with others. If you notice that someone else is using your account, let us know right away.
The free version
With the free version you use LexAgent for 30 days, with a limited number of credits and all sources except council information (raadsinformatie). Asking questions is free; a checked or source-supported claim costs one credit. When your credits run out or the trial period is over, you can still read, copy and export your dossiers. There is one trial account per person. We may change or end the free version.
Paid access
If you use LexAgent through your organization, the arrangements in the agreement between your organization and SWIS also apply. If they differ, that agreement prevails.
Acceptable use
Use LexAgent as it is intended. Among other things, this means:
- not getting around the limits on the number of requests, for example with multiple accounts;
- not using LexAgent to download sources in bulk or to resell them;
- only using the language model in the free version for legal work in LexAgent;
- not attempting to get around the security or to disrupt the service.
In case of misuse, we may restrict your access or block your account.
Your documents
Documents you put in the Workspace stay in your browser and remain yours. You are responsible for making sure you are allowed to use them and that you handle the personal data in them with care. Because we do not have them, we cannot recover them either: make an export if you want to keep them.
The sources
LexAgent retrieves the sources from open data from, among others, wetten.overheid.nl, lokaleregelgeving.overheid.nl, officielebekendmakingen.nl, the Dutch judiciary (de Rechtspraak), EUR-Lex and the council information systems of municipalities, provinces and water boards (gemeenten, provincies en waterschappen). The publishers' terms apply to those sources. Whether a source is available also depends on them.
Availability and liability
We do our best to keep LexAgent working well and available, but cannot guarantee that it always works or is free of errors. We are not liable for damage resulting from the use of LexAgent or from answers of a language model, except in the case of intent or gross negligence on the part of SWIS. For paid access, the arrangements on liability in the agreement apply.
Stopping
You can stop at any time. If you want us to delete your account, email service@vragen.ai. You revoke a connection with your own assistant from within that assistant.
Changes and governing law
We may change these terms. For significant changes, we will let you know in advance. These terms are governed by Dutch law; we submit disputes to the competent court in The Hague.
How we handle your data is described in the privacy statement.
